Lost provence, the name says it all. When you book a trip with Yvan, encountering Lost Provence that is exactly what you will get. A journey to a place that many know yet areas they rarely see. My favorite way to travel is to get off the beaten path and experience what the locals love, that is the forte of Lost Provence.  Yvan tailors each trip to fit your interest and your desires in a unique way. He is incredibly attentive to your needs and any specifications you may have regarding travel needs or foods. It is his passion to showcase the land that he loves.

My family and I chose an active adventure with Lost Provence and Yvan found some beautiful hikes up to a secluded grotto chapel and down through a beautiful forest to an ancient abbey with waterfalls around each corner. We took a bike ride through the country side stopping in multiple tiny villages. The bikes had motors! kinda felt like cheating....but it was such a beautiful ride amidst the vineyards and orchards that I couldn't feel guilty We went to visit a goat herder and tried some of the freshest, most delicious goat cheese ever. The street market he took us to was bustling with locals and visitors. I wanted to try all the fresh food and it was the perfect place to find unique and local gifts for family back home. Each day was packed with a new adventure and Yvan seemed to always have an extra surprise waiting for us.

Yvan took the stress out of traveling. He did all the driving and planning and we were able to sit back and just enjoy the view along the way. We stayed in a stunning B&B owned and operated by two wonderful men in one of the most beautiful villages in France. No kidding...there was a sign to prove it! Each breakfast was gourmet and everything homemade and local!! He found incredible restaurants for us that we never would have found on our own. He welcomed us into his home village and cooked some of his favorite foods for us. He is incredibly hospitable and made us feel more like family than tourists.

I HIGHLY recommend booking a trip with Lost Provence!!!! It was an incredible, amazing and personal experience and I hope to do another one! There is still plenty to explore!

I left for vacation in October, 2012 for a quick trip to France with LOST PROVENCE.  I expected a trip filled with sights and adventures.  I received a lifelong love of Provence.  Yvan, the consummate tour guide, made his home my home.
From Fontaine de Vaucluse, where the river comes from a cave after traveling the underground cavities, to the incredible views of the village of Cassis by the Mediterranean Sea, I experienced Provence.  I saw sights as seen by the Romans 2000 years ago, virtually unchanged.  I experienced the Provence of Renoir and Van Gogh ...... and Yvan.  I returned  home with an experience and historical perspective that cannot be valued.  I can't wait to return!

Thank you for taking us to the most amazing hike up a mountain side to see an incredible chapel! To visit a monestary, to stay in an amazing B & B in an ancient city, to visit Cassis, such a quaint village, & to find an amazing outdoor marketplace...that was soooo fun to shop where locals shop....I came home with beautiful tablecloths for everyone & scarves & herbs de of all a lifetime of memories!
